Klee Irwin Answers Questions About Dual Action Cleanse
Klee Irwin and the health specialists at Health Breakthroughs answer common questions about a variety of health concerns, many of which are important to the Dual Action Cleanse consumer. What exactly are dietary supplements? Is it true that they are not regulated by the federal government? (Per Klee Irwin, this is a "frequently asked question".)
The term "nutritional supplement" refers to
any non-drug product ingested by mouth that contains one or more vitamin,
mineral, plant extract, amino-acid, enzyme, nutrient complex or metabolite,
delivered via pill, tablet, capsule, tea or liquid tincture, gel-cap
or powder.
Contrary to what the media may imply, supplements are regulated, just
not the same as drugs. The dietary supplement industry is regulated like
the automotive and entertainment industries: The federal government sets
general guidelines regarding safety and advertising, and then the industry
sets additional, specific rules governing itself.
For example, all packaging is required to follow FDA specifications,
and each manufacturer - by selling the product — certifies that the ingredient
contents match the amount declared on the label, the information is not
misleading and that it's safe for human consumption. Responsible companies
follow all FDA guidelines and deliver solid products that can enhance
health. "Certainly," instructs Klee Irwin, Formulator of Nutritional
Products, like Dual Action Cleanse, "our products were designed
to meet the highest standards of potency, quality and freshness."
I was taking an internal cleansing formula, but stopped after one month, thinking that I was done. But I've read that you should continue to cleanse your digestive system every other month. Is this true? Do I really need to cleanse all year 'round?
Klee Irwin finds that Specialists from diverse health
fields highly recommend periodic internal cleansing as a way to maintain
good health. Researchers now associate poor digestion with a host of
health issues, from bad breath to skin problems to fatigue, bloating
and general malaise that can make you feel older than you are.
Just like
you regularly flush out and change the oil in your car's engine, helping
your body flush out thoroughly every other month is a good maintenance
technique. Given the fact that you will continue to eat all year-round
(you need to do so in order to survive!), it is simply impossible to
avoid ingesting toxins, pollutants, preservatives and hormones from food
and the environment. Klee Irwin observes that a plethora of people are
concerned about how environmental toxins, over-processed foods, poor
lifestyle choices and more impact their health.
What's more, after age 40, your body's cleansing capability slows down,
making it especially important to support it with a consistent cleansing
regime for ongoing health and vitality. The best time to step up internal
cleansing is when the seasons change, especially in spring, which keeps
your body in sync with Nature's own calendar for rejuvenation. "Regular
cleansing of the digestive system — one month on, one off is ideal-is
beneficial both as a preventative measure and as a healthy tool to increase
overall vitality and resistance to disease," recommends Klee Irwin.
How do I know if I need a dietary supplement?
"We live in a polluted world where much of our diet
has become nutritionally weak," affirms Klee Irwin. Food often comes
from far-flung "factory farms" and the long trip from ranch
to retailer may be strewn with unwelcome surprises. Over-processed foods
— not to mention their high salt, sugar and preservative content,
along with undesirable additives
— can deprive you of energy, weaken your
ability to de-stress and compromise other aspects of wellness.
"Some people see supplements as 'heroic countermeasures' to
protect the body against today's toxic environment. But choosing which
supplements to take can be tricky. First, set some clear objectives.
Make a list of your primary concerns, in order of what you think is most
immediate," recommends Klee Irwin. Is it time to start an internal
cleansing program, like Dual Action Cleanse? Do your joints hurt? Do
you lack energy during the day? Is your current diet not helping you
lose weight as fast as you'd like? Do you need digestive system support,
another aspect of the Dual Action Cleanse and Dual
Action Diet Cleanse programs? You can seek out support for those issues and talk to a health
professional about what makes sense.
Klee Irwin advises, "Even if you're just trying to find a better
multi-vitamin, consider the wisdom of Nobel Price winner Dr. Linus Pauling,
who emphasized 'optimum nutrition' — which involves providing your
body with nutrients for peak functioning rather then the minimum needed
to survive." It's like premium instead of regular fuel.
Keep in
mind: supplements aren't magic bullets, nor are they substitutes for
healthy habits. As the term suggests, supplements are additions to — not
replacements for — healthy choices.
Do dietary supplements save Seniors money?
It may pay to take supplements. "A clinical study
commissioned by the Dietary Supplement Education Alliance shows that
taking certain dietary supplements may not only help seniors live longer,
but also dramatically cut down on medical costs," reports Klee Irwin.
Specifically, Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) and lutein with zeaxanthin
are among those supplements that may result in less-frequent doctor's
visits and reduced hospitalizations. Essential Health Oil is one of the
supplements recommended to compliment the Dual Action Cleanse system.
The study showed that these supplements helped combat conditions common
among seniors, such as cardiovascular/heart disease (CHD) and age-related
macular degeneration (AMD), which, if controlled, will ultimately allow
a more fulfilling, longer life. In numerous studies, including one conducted
by the FDA, Omega-3 EFAs in dietary supplements were recognized as helping
prevent CHD. Another independent study calculated that among those who
took a daily dose of Omega-3 over a five-year period, there was a decrease
in health care expenditures by $3.1 billion, thanks to a reduced need
for medical treatment. "This illustrates the value of nutritional
supplements for health care in any society," states Klee Irwin,
Nutritional Expert and Formulator of Dual Action Cleanse.
Lutein with zeaxanthin, a combination that has been shown to reduce age-related
diseases of the eye, played an important role in avoiding not only costly
eye treatments but also hip fractures and other symptoms caused by vision-loss-related
accidents. The study estimated that, over the same five-year period,
the savings in medical expenditures totaled $2.5 billion. 12-in-One
Multis
contain lutein and are also recommended for use with the Dual Action Cleanse system.
